Every woman’s monthly cycles will look a little differently. Some women will have very long cycles, possibly around 31 to 33 days. Others will have shorter cycles, possibly around 25 to 28 days. The length of the actual cycle doesn’t prohibit a woman from becoming pregnant. The important thing to know is exactly when you are ovulating so that you can have intercourse during this time.

When a woman has her period, this means that her body is shedding the uterine lining. The uterine lining is an important part of a pregnancy. Over the course of her cycle, the lining will thicken so that the embryo can attach on it if it becomes fertilized. If the egg is not fertilized, the embryo will expire and the uterine lining will be shed, starting the woman’s period.

This could make it harder to become pregnant because the embryo may not be able to attach if it becomes fertilized.

If you are having shorter periods, it is best to talk to your doctor. It is possible that there are some things that your doctor will want you to do in order to thicken your uterine lining. Supplements are available to help with this problem, plus you can add things to your diet. Medication is also available to help.
